Sunday evening I finished writing a long heavy blog post about the border, world views, and cognitive dissonance, but just as I made my last edit the wifi cut out and apparently nothing had saved. So instead I will share just some short snippets from this past week.
Some photos from a trip to the border. We offered food and water to migrants traveling through the desert and secured beds for a group who had just been deported to Sasabe.
Some chalk drawings at the COVID isolation hotel. And a gift from a 5 year old who became my helper and without knowing it reminded me to slow down to breathe and smile during a busy day at the welcome center. (COVID positivity rate has been lingering around 10-15% which is crazy for logistics on my end and devastating for guests who just want to see their families)

Cade and I finally made it to a bouldering gym! My arms are so sore and my hands raw, but it felt so. good to be climbing again!
Inspired by the generous gift of a pickle ball net from one of the SOOPers, we painted court lines on the pavement behind the church Sunday afternoon. Stay tuned for more pickle ball adventures to come!
