About

HI! My name is Jessie Landis. I am originally from Northern New York where the land flows of cow's milk and tree honey (ie. maple syrup). I recently graduated Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg Virginia with a biochemistry major. While I apply to medical school I am spending a year volunteering in Tucson Arizona with Mennonite Voluntary Service. The purpose of this blog is to share stories and reflections of my time in Arizona as a way of staying connected to friends and family. Writing for me has always been an important way for me to process highly emotional events, so this will be an important processing space for me as well. I may not always be eloquent or poetic with my words, but I hope to be able to share my stories in a way that uplifts those I encounter and sheds light on stories not yet told. Follow me this year as I learn and grow in a new setting.
